Hi Gavin,

The level one scan tool is a Professional tool and can do any vehicle manufactured after 1996 but is limited to just federal mandated engine and emissions data. To see enhanced data and connect to more controllers such as transmission, Airbag, ABS, and Body controllers you should buy a level 2, 3 or 4 scan tool.

What does "All Vehicle Controllers" mean?
I see "All Vehicle Controllers" on levels 3 and above.

Hi Richard,

Good question! I don't know, only kidding!
Most modern vehicles has more than one control module (ECU/PCM/TCM etc. or on board computers) Each control module will control one major system such as the ABS, Transmission, Airbag or Body Electronics.

All Controllers means that you get access to these control Modules and not just the engine control module (ECU/PCM)

Not only do you get access to these controllers but you also get enhanced access meaning that you can do more than just the basic things like resetting the check engine light but you can also do things like resetting the learning procedures, operate the Injectors, or open and close the Idle control valve, the list goes on and on.

I have the obdI/II scanner that you hook up to your laptop via serial. I only have the ford (eec) connector. correct me if i'm wrong, but all i have to do to scan other makes is buy the specific cable for the make. right? do you sell the cables individually?
